Hello fellow Ottawans, I'm looking for a room to call home. I have my own bar fridge, hotplate and microwave. Don't need room-mates, just a spare basement room or flat. Looking for a quiet place to study, make art and sleep. I have no pets and don't smoke, healthy, employed, friendly and low maintenance. If you need a quiet person and a few extra bucks a month, let me know.

Updates... hmmm
Life is a big mess right now. I suppose that's the way a creative person lives their life. God that's depressing. "As good as it gets." is the bitter ironical quote of the day. Struggling to pay rent... as usual, ....oh yeah, just shy of 50... (that's a good one)... hmmm more... A pile of That Lost Thing is waiting to be finished, Unremembered Euphoria has creatively clogged down (but that was also just some temporary fun), making tuns of props for Vue. Hopefully you'll all see the light of that someday. A batch of Dark Mantra, the real meat in the potato stew is hitting its bitter pessimistic creative block.... in other words, is stewing nicely. You'll like that muck, if not, I will be happy in your bitter displeasure. I suppose life is good.. or I'm just crazy.

Lost artist signing out. >D

Throwing up a lot of work these days, impulsive designs, ideas quickly hammered out--but wait! All me art school teaching and mentors tells me to be spontaneous, work in series, don't over work an idea. Well, since most of the this work does reflect my personal feelings at the moment, I tend to agree. But do please excuse the crudeness or lack of refinement in the work. Their just immediate impulses. Best kind da art!

Hello everyone! I have finally gotten all the parts and assembled them on the Easter weekend. Let me tell you, it was tense! A computer technician, I'm not! But I have given rise to a new life form! It's ALIVE!!!!!!!! It also works perfectly, all smooth 64 bits of her.  I'm now working on new projects. Still might be a while before work goes up, but my day rob right now keeps me busy.

Other news, I posted some of my old paintings in my Gallery: volatileplums.deviantart.com/g…
Lots of people have requested  seeing the dinosaur-art I did after my art schools days. I cringe to look them, fondly
remember doing them and may yet go out and old-school it again.

I solute old-school everywhere!

Tired of a slowly failing computer, artwork crashing, my creative spirit or any kind of spirit wearing away. It's time for a new PC. Piece by piece we will be building it.
Has to be done, no creativity is happening. FrankenPC will be born!

If you've been working in art-stuff as long as I have, mistakes, goof-ups and huge setbacks are open invites to creative opportunities. I'm hoping that this is one of those. Recently, my computer was taken in for much needed repairs, which coincided with a up and coming day-job change. I couldn't afford much. Well as it turned everything on the my poor PC had worn out. Power supply, hard disc, video driver had all been replaced. The motherboard is on its last legs and could give-out at any moment. After reinstalling ally my graphic software, most struggle to work. Photoshop and 3d are pretty much out for creative freedom. The only thing left working well is Adobe Illustrator. I was hoping to develop Matt painting skills, and that is just not looking good right now. So I am now experimenting in vector. The challenge now is getting inspired and relearning new and old skills.  Nothing is being submitted right now, just playing and trying things. Could that creative explosion be waiting around the corner? Or am I just biding my time. Just have to wait and see.

Did it, took the plunge. I purchased Vue 11. Time to start dabbling and experimenting. This poor deviant page is going to be speckled in vast vista like experiments. Some fantastic, some normal but beautiful. Lots of big ideas! Thinking of persueing Matt painting for buiness and pleasure. This is a logical extension for me, with experience in landscape painting, including cross country trips drawing and painting the whole way and model building for a large museum in the 80's. I've done a lot of commercial work and this is my doorway back into freelancing. I hope.
...getting tired of ordinary jobs.
Let the adventure begin!

I've been dealing with multiple projects, ...product of worrying about daily life. Brain gets a bit scattered. Big dark projects for Deviant are on the way. Models and textures being generated and concepts being smoothed out ...(if they're every smooth in a creative mind). Hard to focus with the next career move looming soon (sudden unemployment), skills going out off date, hard to know what to study. I will probably be getting e-on Vue soon. A set of new but fun skills to develop,  playing on old skills.

New poster images should be out soon. Not to belittle the images I'm slowly releasing now. Check them out!

Had a great Christmas! Too much cookies and chocolate.... but slowly recovering. I'm back to two new kinds of grind. Looking for a new place to live. My expenses, (eating healthy food and such) can't keep up with my job. A job that pays little but holds potential promise. It's time to look for a new place to live, but it must be a downgrade. My sad. Hopefully find a semi private, ...I need some privacy darn it, I'm an artist! This will take away from making art for a month for two.

To make this worse, the other grind is some sabbatical study. Dipping into Lynda.com  and suchlike to upgrade my skills. You never know enough! Beafing up my Photoshop, Poser, and internet knowledge. One always thinks they're an expert until a whole bunch of new things come along.

I hope to be playing with steam-punk themed ideas as projects. Many will be coming to Deviant, and will continue with the Beautiful Abyss uploads.

This is Fred, reporting from literally hip deep in snowy goodness.

I don't know about the people who have seen my latest Fractals, but I'm amazed. They are kinda, what I had been envisioning them to be before I started. The last batch I've posted, or in the middle off right now, are just bits and pieces left over from my fractal manipulations. But now that I'm seeing them in the buff, they're amazing! Should be moving on with new types of fractals, but I think I want to play some more with the currently formula. I'm really excited right now!

I guess I'm getting the seasonal blahs for colour. I keep looking at other peoples fractals for the past two months, getting a pouty face and thinking: "I wanna do fractals thwoo..." I'm developing what must be called: 'fractal envy'. Well, there's only one thing for it! .....

I got used to publishing once a day. Felt mighty fine. So it feels empty when I'm not but working on pieces all the same. Hoped to have stuff ready for Monday, but it ain't so. I just don't want to rush anything. I need seconds, thirds and fourths double checks and casual glances at the work. On top of making some minor preparations for Xmas cards and stuff. ....Xmas like stuff anyway (the Volatile way!). More fractals to come, just need some tweaks and second thoughts. Also getting into Tutorials in a big way. Time to upgrade.

Hoped everyone had a good Remembrance day(Veterans day) , and a good American Thanksgiving.

At the last minute I decided to give myself stress. Sure, why not, artists love stress. (we really don't though). I was itching to do a little steam punkishness and get into the Halloween spirit. so a little bit of Gothic and cyber punk coming your way until  Halloween. Enjoy.

In the next couple of weeks or so, it may seem like I am phasing out the Toxic Bliss images but in fact they're entering the next phase. Much rethinking, models to build, scenes to test and such. I've been doing some experiments lately but things slowed down creatively. For the next while, whimsey, fractals, fractals and whimsey, some new Industrial Steam ,Fossil Pulse and Beautiful Abyss images will be popping up. All just buying time until I get some really solid toxic cyber-ethereal space to present.

Thanks everyone for faves, llamas and your words of kindness!

I just uploaded a bunch of shards and pieces from gradual experiments under the name of Beautiful Abyss. I'm hoping to do more but I have been so busy doing other things. Looking at them now, all in one place, I think I know what I want to do. ....I want to add more creative projects to an already clogged creative mind! I think this is a good thing. Bliss really.

Sorry for all the balloons. Done ....for now. It seemed I was just getting started. More and better compositions to come--but later. There are more fractal manipulations on the way though. I think its the colour that keeps me in the fractal addiction.

Back to the toxic bliss images, but they'll be coming out more slowly. Things in real life are competing for my attention, like job advancement, rent... silly things.

Thanks to everyone for fav's and great comments! Art ON!

There's a lot more ToxicBliss left in me, but I thought I might take a little vacation and engage in a little Mandelbulb3D v182 fun. Been playing around with the new version. Hope to get a better control of the new features.

Lots more Toxic Bliss ready to go, plus tons of half finished models and a sketch book of ideas. The next wave after that is in the works. Lots more Candy Mandelbulb3d intermissions also on the way.
It's like making ones own report card. Time to gather together all that nasty data and put it into one report. It's also an excuse to make some pretty graphics as well. The result of the report are a little interesting and may or may not spell a different direction in future. Problem is I'm going in a very different direction right now! Report cards! I hate the report cards!

Things in my deviantArt page may seem slow, but that only means lots is happening. I, at least see that as a good thing. Artwork is on the way, (theres a CPU full of have finished work, believe me). People have been wondering how I do alot of my work. To me, I think its obvious.... no reason to hide secrets....buuuut, I'm the only one who thinks that. A tutorial is coming. My secrets will be reveiled! Stay tuned/
True, I seem to be only producing Artslices (those free small chunks of big prints). But that  doesn't mean I'm not productive at the moment. New work is being innovated and created. Soon to come for sure. Maybe changing directions....maybe.

There is tuns of distractions as well. Learning Incendia, UDK (a game development tool I am using for art promo purposes) and playing with my new music synth Toxic Biohazard!....(hmmm yummy synth). My life could not be more creative! Is there any other life I ask you!!!!!!!

For now, slices are the sign of creativeness in that big art void out there.
